June 18 – Annual Member Appreciation Night –
Hosted by Motorola
Topic – Developing Job Specific Learning Programs
Learning & development professionals often struggle to develop learning programs that
make sense for their organizations and support the development and growth of
employees. A well-constructed curriculum builds the skills and capabilities of your
workforce and provides employees with a living document through which their
learning can be monitored.
Traditionally, training curricula have been designed around hard and soft skills. This
presentation, based on an ASTD Infoline published by Ms. Krieger and Ms. Feeney,
shows you how to build curricula based upon developing three key employee
competencies. A competency is a set of skills, knowledge, and attitudes required to
carry out a job in an organization. A competency drives outstanding performance in
a job and helps distinguish a truly excellent performer from a mediocre one.
Using this process, Bethpage Federal Credit Union has been able to implement
certification tracks, an award wining corporate university and have seen an internal
transfer and promotion rate of over 40% among participants.
Speakers – Diane Krieger, Manager of Learning and Development –
Bethpage Federal Credit Union and Melissa Feeney,
AVP of Learning and Development, Bethpage Federal Credit Union
Location – Motorola Headquarters – Holtsville, New York
